The Reference
Sometimes a watch is more than the sum of its parts. This tends to happen when all of the little details of a particular piece are correct, when the condition is excellent, and when the design language leans more towards classic rather than trendy. This Omega Geneve from 1974 is just that and is a great example of when a watch is firing on all cylinders. The case and dial condition, the correct Omega signed crystal, the cal. 1030 movement and an elegant design language make this watch sing.
The Case
The 35mm stainless steel case is in excellent condition. Highlights include the correct signed acrylic crystal, signed crown, and a screw-down case back with vertical brushing. The overall design is simple with straight lugs and razor-sharp edges.
The Dial and Hands
The silver dial and hands are in excellent condition. The dial features a subtle sunburst pattern that adds a nice layer of texture. The stick indexes complete the balanced layout of the dial and complement the minute track nicely. Small lume plots are barely visible above the indexes and do not take away from the simplicity of the design.
The Movement
This watch features a hand wound Omega calibre 1030 movement. The watch is running and the service history is not known.
