The Reference
Just when you think that you have seen it all a watch comes along and proves you dead wrong. We have seen mystery clocks, transparent dials, and skeletonized movements, but we have never seen a watch with a transparent hour track until this Helbros Invincible crossed our desk. And although this watch is labeled “Invincible”, which was Helbros most prolific line of watches, this model proves exceeding rare with us only able to find one other example online. So while we don’t know much about this watch we do know that it’s cool.
The Case
The 35mm stainless steel case is in good condition. The overall design is simple, with a slender bezel and unsigned crown, that lets the unique dial take center stage. The caseback is much more interesting with the entire back being acrylic, which gives you a complete view of the movement and the backside of the transparent hour track and markers.
The Dial and Hands
The dial can be viewed in two sections. The first is the inner portion which is finished in a semi-gloss black with a crosshair motif and a simple hour and minute track. The outer portion of the dial is a transparent disc with applied rounded point hour markers. The hands are triangular and lumed.
The Movement
This watch features a hand-wound Helbro P61 movement that was produced in Germany. The watch is running and the service history is not known.
