Jubilee Skin Diver Ref. F511

Buy for: $750.00

The Reference

Jubilee, a former Longines-Wittnauer company, imported a small number of watches to the US, especially when compared with their parent brands. Skin divers, like this watch, are probably the most recognizable watches from the brand and were made in a few variations. The bezel can be seen in both metal and resin as seen here and the dials can lack a depth rating or show “666 feet”. Lastly, the “17 jewels” listed on the dial, represent the (essentially) Seiko 6602B movement inside. That is a lot of cool packed into a 37mm case.

The Case

The 37mm stainless steel case is in very good condition. It features a thick coin-edged bezel that holds a thick resin bezel insert. The overall design is fairly traditional skin diver which is a much loved archetype. The screw-down case back features some nice decorative detail all of the case components look to be correct for the watch.

The Dial and Hands

The dial and hands are a bit more complex than the standard skin diver. This is highlighted by applied numerals at 12, 6, and 9 and, more interestingly, large lume plots inside the numerals as well as the date window. The hands are large and rectangular in shape and feature the same large lumed areas as seen on the dial.

The Movement

This watch features a manually wound UTC 29 (Seiko 6602B) movement. It is running and the service history is not known.
