The Reference
There is a voice within all of our minds that yearns for the type of collection that guys like Roni Madhvani (@roni_m_29) and Gai Gohari (@morillo55) have amassed and it is not because of the value of the watches. It is because of the Avante Garde designs and an effortlessly cool factor that each of their pieces possesses. The only problem is that many of their watches are exceedingly rare and have price tags to match. What is a burgeoning collector to do? The answer lies in pieces like the DaVinci Elipses from Lucien Piccard. Clearly evocative of the Patek Philippe Elipse, this watch is non the less cool and being produced in solid 18k gold and with a high-quality manual movement, it represents a fantastic way to add a bit of style and class to a collection without breaking the bank.
The Case
The 28x33mm 14k yellow gold case is in very good condition. In design, it is clearly evocative of the Patek Philippe Elipse which itself references the gold ratio to wonderful effect. The lugs are hidden underneath the case which allows the case lines to flow continuously and without interruption. This feature also makes the watch appear to float on the wearer’s wrist, adding to its allure.
The Dial and Hands
The brown to amber ombre dial is in fair condition. It features large painted roman numerals in black with gold highlights and matching black and gold hands. Both of which are devoid of lume. The dial has developed some cracking which should be noted.
The Movement
This watch features a hand-wound Lucien Piccard signed mechanical movement. The watch is running and the service history is not known.
