The Reference
Everybody needs a simple gold dress watch in their collection but, for better or worse, fewer and fewer of us are putting on suits with any regularity these days. As a result, the dress watch seems to be playing second fiddle to the sports watch in the minds of seasoned collectors and enthusiasts alike. As this shift happens we find ourselves looking for more economical dress watches that fit the bill for those special occasions without breaking the band. This rose gold plated Zenith watch from the late 60s or early 70s fits the bill quite well. It has simple classic dress watch proportions in a slim case and a dial that provides just enough contrast to keep you staring at your wrist all night.
The Case
The 35mm rose gold plated case is in very good condition. The crown, crystal, and signed case back are all in matching condition to the case and appear to be correct for the watch. There are some small dents on the bezel and the tips of the lugs.
The Dial and Hands
The silver sunburst dial is in excellent condition. The simple no lume dial with applied matching rose gold hour markers add to the dressy nature of the watch. The printing is crisp and does not distract nor does the date window between 4 and 5 o’clock.
The Movement
This watch features an automatic Zenith caliber 2532PC movement. The watch is running well and was recently serviced.
